The work of Anna & Eugeni Bach understands time as an essential ally of architecture. Due to the long learning process of the history of natural selection and collective learning, the vernacular architecture tends to be intriguingly wise in the use of resources—whether material, energy, or effort. Individual architects cannot count with the trial and error of centuries and, therefore, are obliged to compress time into a design process followed by the construction. In their work the Bachs cast an uninhibited look to the past in order to imagine and construct future scenarios.
