Pitchfork studio visit

May 7, 2015 at 6:30PM

MAS Context organized a studio visit to Pitchfork where designer Michael Renaud, creative director of Pitchfork and contributor to our Repetition issue, discussed the ideas behind The Pitchfork Review and his experience working on the first five issues, as well as his design approach to the different areas of Pitchfork.

Contributors

Pitchfork has been the leading voice in independent music since 1996, with an audience of more than five million unique visitors each month. Every year they organize fantastic music festivals in Chicago and Paris and, in July of 2013, they launched The Dissolve, a reference website for movie lovers.

In December of 2013 they released the first issue of The Pitchfork Review, a quarterly print publication featuring long-form feature stories, photography, design, cartoons, and other ephemera that documents music culture, past and present.

Thank you very much to Michael Renaud and Molly Butterfoss for taking the time to share their work, and to all of you who attended the event.

Below are a few photographs of the event.
