BairBalliet is a design venture based in Chicago and Los Angeles and is invested in architecture in the form of both speculative and built projects. They choreograph the conceptual, experiential, and technical aspects of architecture through the production of buildings, models, drawings, films, and images, often conflating their space-making potential and representational conventions.

BairBalliet has been published in Architect's Newspaper, Log Journal, Art Papers, Fresh Meat, Room One Thousand, ArchDaily, and Archinect among others. Their work has been exhibited internationally in the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Frac Centre, and Centre de design de l’UQAM. Their work has been exhibited across the United States at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, The Architecture & Design Museum & the SCI-Arc Gallery in Los Angeles, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit, the Chicago Cultural Center in Chicago, and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh among others. In 2018, they were named a finalist for the MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program.

Kelly Bair is Partner at BairBalliet, Associate Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Architecture. Bair holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a Master’s degree from the UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design.

Kristy Balliet is Partner at BairBalliet and Design Faculty and Undergraduate Programs Chair at SCI-Arc. Balliet holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University and a Master’s degree from the UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design.

Bair and Balliet are cofounders of Possible Mediums, a collaboration with Adam Fure and Kyle Miller, fellow designers and educators interested in shaking up the context and format in which architecture is taught, produced, and engaged.

ABOUT CONCÉNTRICO

Concéntrico was born in 2015 as the International Festival of Architecture and Design of Logroño, which annually proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city. The project, a laboratory of urban innovation with an international vocation, invites people to explore the city through installations, exhibitions, meetings, and activities that propose new collective uses, strengthening the idea of community in public space.

Since its foundation, the festival has brought together more than 160 urban interventions created by teams of national and international architects and designers who experiment with new fields of environmental design in its ten editions. In this way, a dialogue is established between the city, heritage and contemporary architecture that activates the reflection of citizens on these spaces.

Season 24/25

Concéntrico presents its new season with a renewed focus that includes a variety of initiatives and formats in cities such as Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Dammam, Huesca, and Logroño, consolidating a decade of innovations in architecture and urbanism.

This program stands out for the introduction of new formats that address contemporary challenges, including, for the first time, a call for the design of a permanent project, as well as educational programs, exhibitions, and itinerancies that promote citizen participation. By expanding its footprint and establishing new dates in different locations, Concéntrico aims to revitalize the dialogue between designers and communities, enriching the festival experience and its relevance in the current contex
