Future Firm is a Chicago-based architecture and design research office working with civic changemakers through an ideas-driven approach. Founded by Ann Lui and Craig Reschke in 2015 and joined by principal Linda Chávez Baca in 2023, the practice works across spatial scales with a focus on arts and culture organizations, nonprofits, and mission-driven businesses. Future Firm’s design approach focuses on the production of a vibrant and heterogeneous “future city,” partnering with clients committed to shaping new possibilities for their communities. The firm’s practice expands upon traditional scope of architectural practice—supporting partners in building momentum for their ideas through design, research, and strategic thinking.

Notable projects include Revolution Workshop, the renovation of two warehouses into a
workforce development headquarters; the renovation of the historic South Side Community Art
Center; and Hem House, a compact single-family home designed as a replicable model for
Chicago’s vacant lots. Clients include the Art Institute of Chicago, Nike, Mobile Makers Chicago,
Bronzeville Winery, and Kimball Art Center. The firm’s work has been exhibited internationally
and published in MAS Context, Dwell, and Wallpaper. Future Firm received The Architect’s
Newspaper
’s 2025 Best of Practice Award, was named one of The Architectural League of New
York’s Emerging Voices 2026, and awarded the Richard H. Driehaus Community Impact Award
in 2025.

Ann Lui is a cofounder of Future Firm and an incoming associate professor of practice at the University of Chicago. She holds a master’s of science in architecture studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s of architecture from Cornell University. Craig Reschke holds a master’s in landscape architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor’s of architecture from the University of Tennessee. Linda Chávez Baca received a master’s of science degree in project management from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s of architecture from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

ABOUT CONCÉNTRICO

Concéntrico is an urban innovation laboratory that invites reflection on the city through architecture and design. Since 2015, it has carried out more than 180 interventions in Logroño, proposing new collective uses of space and fostering a shared urban experience.

The 2025/2026 season expands this experimental spirit through three international open calls that bring into action the ideas developed in the book Concéntrico: Urban Innovation Laboratory (Park Books, 2025). Through them, the project deepens three lines of research —the ephemeral, the ecological, and the symbolic— to imagine alternative ways of inhabiting the city; in this edition, the winning projects of the open calls can already be discovered, and will be developed during the festival in Logroño. Within this framework, a new international open call in collaboration with Festival Cruïlla in Barcelona is also launched, expanding the project’s scope into the scenic and contemporary cultural context, and exploring new relationships between architecture, music, and community.

The festival in Logroño, which will celebrate its twelfth edition from 18 to 23 June 2026, will once again be the meeting point where the initiatives and collaborations of the season converge, consolidating Concéntrico as an international platform for urban experimentation.
