Lisa Yun Lee

Lisa Yun Lee is a cultural activist and the Executive Director of the National Public Housing Museum. Lisa is also an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a member of the Art History, Museum and Exhibition Studies, and Gender and Women’s Studies faculty. In 2020, Lisa was appointed by Governor JB Pritzker to serve on the Illinois State Museum Board, and also served as a Co-Chair of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Arts & Culture Transition Committee, and on the Advisory Committee for the City of Chicago’s racial healing and historical reckoning project to assess memorials, monuments, and other public art. Lisa also served on Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Arts and Cultural Transition Committee, and is currently appointed to the Mayor’s Committee on Equity. Lisa currently serves on the boards of the Field Foundation, the Chicago Torture Justice Memorials, and the American Association of State and Local History.
