Michael Skowlund

About

Michael Skowlund is a principal at Hoerr Schaudt. With over two decades of experience in landscape design, Michael has a distinguished track record of leading prestigious projects of all scales. A Wisconsin native, he ventured away from his home state after earning a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from UW-Madison, exploring both the West and East Coasts. His exploration of diverse landscapes and design cultures eventually led him back to the Midwest, where he established himself in Chicago and continued to build his portfolio, from large-scale commercial developments to residential gardens. Michael is dedicated to elevating the relationship between people and nature through innovative, science-driven solutions. His work is driven by a deep commitment to collaboration, working alongside a talented team to bring bold, transformative visions to life. Michael additionally holds a position as an adjunct professor at IIT’s Landscape Architecture + Urbanism program.
