Located on the second floor overlooking the intersection of Milwaukee, North, and Damen Avenues, the new space has a greater footprint than the original and will be able to host a wider variety of public programs, conversations, and exhibitions.
Beginning in 2021, the MAS Context Reading Room was established to host small-scale exhibitions; five have been presented to date: Territories of Territory Extraction by Galen Pardee, 1972/Accumulations by Noritaka Minami, Periphery by Virginia Hanusik, There is Room by Kwong Von Glinow, and A Lot With Little curated by Noemí Blager and supported by Arper.
Since our founding in 2009, MAS Context has partnered with over 50 organizations to present public programming, exhibitions, and art installations throughout Chicago and beyond. These off-site programs and partnerships remain central to our work, and will continue apace.
Keep an eye out for opportunities and programs to visit the new MAS Context Reading Room. And a special thank you to The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, whose generous support has, in part, made this expansion possible.
