Ben Schulman

Ben Schulman is a civic strategist working at the intersection of narrative, capital, and community development. He is Director of Place at Chicago-based a5 Branding & Digital, leading placemaking and development strategies for civic and cultural clients. Previously, as Vice President at Memphis Medical District Collaborative, he catalyzed over $500 million in equitable development. Ben’s writing has appeared in CityLab, Metropolis, and ARCHITECT. He is a Next City Vanguard, serves on the boards of Equiticity and the Progress & Poverty Institute, and publishes the newsletter Different Landscapes, exploring urbanism, policy, and place.
