On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. His victory speech, delivered before thousands of people in Chicago and millions around the world through the media, was the event of the year. Photographer Cesar Russ documented this historic celebration from Grant Park and one of his photographs (image 5) was selected as one of the 25 top newspaper front pages from around the world by Newseum, Washington DC.

Cesar Russ

Cesar Russ is a photographer based in Chicago who has worked for some of the most prestigious international press publications. In 2007 he was named the 2007-2008 “Artist of the Year” by the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.
