Isolated Building Studies
September 7, 2009
The study of the built environment has taken on special significance in the current economic downturn. Driven by the collapse of the global real estate market, much of the nation has been visibly affected by the recession. Entire skyscrapers wait for businesses to fill them while formerly booming cities could house whole towns in their vacant condominiums. Photographer and sociologist David Schalliol engages the discourse about the recession through his Isolated Building Studies series.
