After working as a creative director for twenty years in Europe, Luis Mendo moved to Japan and changed his career to drawing. His illustrations can be found on sites, magazines, and advertising, but also in art galleries and clothing. Clients include Apple, Forbes, The Guardian, Monocle, The New York Times, New York magazine, Ralph Lauren, Uniqlo, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and Wired. He occasionally writes too. Parallel to his illustration work, he is the creative director of artist residency Almost Perfect, which he founded together with his wife Yuka in 2018.
