The port is a scale-shifting device, mediating between the global and the local—but as a physical entity, it’s spatial linearity blocks off all access to the waterfront. The project proposes to renovate existing industrial infrastructure of the port to create a hub to create a shortcircuit between the international scale of the port with the local scale of the city, through programmatic interaction and physical adjacency.
